Our farming experience has grown from years of hands-on production and from a shared belief that farming is the kind of work and life we want to continue building together. We started Bright Thread Farm in 2021 as a diversified vegetable farm and have grown vegetables for farmers markets, CSA, and local wholesale customers. Kelsey has spent much of her career working directly in crop production and farm management, including managing certified organic vegetable production and now overseeing crop production at Carnation Farms. Her experience includes everything from crop and seeding plans to field preparation, planting, irrigation, harvest, crew coordination, and getting crops to market. Trevor has farmed alongside Kelsey while also building a career working directly with farmers as an agricultural conservation planner, helping farms think through soil health, water management, irrigation, infrastructure, nutrient management, and the long-term viability of their operations.

Over the years, we have learned that what we want most is not simply more acreage, but a farm that we can really know and care for over a long period of time. We enjoy the process of figuring out what a particular piece of ground does well, improving soil year after year, working through the practical challenges of water and infrastructure, and building production systems that make sense for both the land and the people farming it. We hope to build a diversified and financially sustainable farm where annual crops remain an important part of the operation but where we can also explore perennial crops, livestock, or other enterprises depending on what is best suited to the property. Having farmed primarily on leased land, we understand how difficult it can be to make the long-term investments that good stewardship often requires. We are looking for a place where we can put down roots as a family, make thoughtful improvements, care for the soil and water, and build a farm that we expect to be part of for decades. A farm transfer is especially meaningful to us because we recognize that a farm is more than land and buildings—it represents years of work, knowledge, decisions, and relationships. We would hope to learn from that history, respect what previous farmers have built, and carry the farm forward in a way that keeps it productive, cared for, and connected to its agricultural community.

Hello. I am an Airforce veteran looking to get into farming. I am a mechanic by trade so working around tools and fixing things shouldn’t be a problem. I currently work a third shift job in Lansdale, PA and would like to have a farm in the #7 region. I saw a few that seemed maybe could be a good fit. I hope to grow vegetables and fruits and possibly some trees. I wouldn’t mind some livestock as well. But I guess that all depends on the land

I have 3 years experience working on established organic vegetable farms and 1 year experience running a small 1/2 acre vegetable farm on my own. I want to continue growing vegetables for direct-to-consumer sales or a CSA. Hi, I am a new beekeeper. I currently have 3 hives on a flower farm that i volunteer at . I drive an hour away to care for my bees and work the land, harvest, dead head and help to create tinctures.
I have a bit of knowledge about planting flowers, herbs, and some vegetables but i would not say i have farming knowledge of those things, but I would love to learn. I enjoy being w the bees and getting my hands dirty. I feel that beekeeper and working the land creates a strong person with a good work ethic who respects life a little differently. I would love to share that with others. My dream would be to have a a bee farm with apitherapy options for community members. Flower & herb farm as well as a small vegetable farm with a few goats for fresh goats milk & chickens for fresh eggs. I work hard and have zero problems getting my hands dirty and learning from those who know better.
