We basically run an organic farm as we do not use pesticides , herbicides or any type of chemical on our grasses or with any of our cattle. I am looking for a similar type farm south of us that I can take approximately 10 -20 18 month old hefers and steers for 4-6 months

My name is Rezart, I am a masters student here at Penn State University completing my masters in Supply Chain Management. I am a 6th generation farmer with a passion for regenerative agriculture and meat processing.
My family and I are looking to open a farm to retail meat store operation here in State College after graduation this coming May, 2027. We want to first start by finding a farm with considerable farm land (15+ acres) that is willing to lease so that we can start raising our own livestock before working on opening the meat store.

I am a journey farmer. I have worked on two farms in the last three years developing m skills and knowledge. I am interested in finding land where I can begin a small operation to grow vegetables, berries, fruit and raise livestock (Layers, broilers, pigs, rabbits etc.) My goal is to first improve the conditions of land by using permaculture designs, agroforestry integration, and regenerative practices to improve soil, water and biodiversity. I am aiming to produce a succession of annual and perennial crops that can be converted into value=added products and utilize the space so that it can be attractive holistically with the opportunity for stackable enterprises. I am looking to secure approximately 3 to 40 acres to begin this journey with the help of family, friends and close farmer relationships.

With the state of the world right now, farming is the one thing that must be protected the most. I moved to Central PA four years ago to get away from the city. Now I have experience in growing my own food, purchasing butchered meat straight from the farm, and hanging with the Amish as they showed me how to churn butter and bottle raw cow’s milk. Now, with the threat of data centers buying and drying up land, I feel the need to do my part. Finding a farm for sale in my budget takes research and resources. I desire to have land that benefits us while taking care of itself. Growing produce that can act as food and medicine. Utilizing the growing season to help keep the land healthy. Have animals that can contribute to everyday health and food, as well as therapeutic measures. Classes for people who want to learn. Events for people to just come hang out on the farm. Help keep building a society that does not solely rely on consumerism for all their needs.

I am looking for a decent sized portion of land in Western PA that would be an appropriate size to start a family compound style homestead on. It would be for 3 couples and I am looking for room for a greenhouse or crops to support ourselves, as well as some pasture for home grown animals for meat. I have no experience in this and am looking for a good place to start.

I have been and emt, fireman and paramedic within the commonwealth of PA for 28 years now. I am an active hunter and conservationist and have experience on small scale farms (livestock and lavender.My goal is to have a small scale farm that engages the community as well as feeding those in need. Self Sustenance is important to me as well. I have worked with livestock and hobby farms my whole life but intermittently and just helping friends I knew on their farms.
