Looking to becoming a farm owner in near future for cattle, fruit, vegetables, other livestock

I am looking for 10-25 acres of land to begin my operations that will consist of the following: 500 laying hens, 1000 broilers, a 1.5-acre vegetable garden, two cows, six sheep, a small processing mobile unit that can be eventually removed. I am seeking to form or collaborate with a farmer who would be willing to let me either use a portion of their unused land or construct a 1-5 year leases agreement. This would position my operation to immediately build soil nutrient, sequester carbon, give value to the property and or eventually exercise a motion to either buy or lease for long term.

Hi. I grew up on a small beef and grain farm in Cambria County. I have a degree on Ag Bus Mgmt from Penn State. I worked for USDA and served in the PA Army National Guard. I am looking for a farmstead to purchase to raise some beef swine and crops (Depending on how the farm is setup). I am looking in Northern PA. Western and Central PA

We currently have1 high tunnel/greenhouse and are expanding to add at least 2 more. We raise meat chickens, laying chickens and swine. We harvest a multi-fruit orchard and several varieties of berries, as well. We live in a very recessed area, in fact, a food desert, and would like to work on filling that gap. I have over 30 years’ experience in crop growing on a small level and look forward to expanding and educating on a bigger platform.

I am a Navy veteran of 6 years. I have spent most of my time in the medical field, but have had a keen desire to pursue an agricultural career.

My husband and I are looking to establish a 20 acre max farmette around central or northern Pennsylvania.

I am someone who has found myself feeling very passionate about land conservation and farming for my family. I don’t have a lot of experience, just a backyard garden that I’m managing to keep alive in the Sonoran Desert. (That has to count for at least a point or two.)

My best friend and I are dreaming of a life where we can both live on the same property and grow foods for ourselves, our extended family, and maybe even a farm stand. This would ideally be located in Pennsylvania, so that I can return to my home state and be around family. I want fruit trees and berry bushes, chickens and goats, a very large veggie garden and plenty of flower gardens as well. I intend fully to create habitats of native plants, flowers, and trees for animals and bugs native to the area.

I just don’t know where to start or how to acquire land without putting myself in debt.

I hope to continue or create a combination of productive and stewarded land use that serves as both a home and a community resource. Somewhere that supports food, culture, art, and care. I grew up in rural Midwest and have lived in the Philly for about 15 years. Now I’m ready to return to a more natural setting and deepen my connection to land and local community. I have experience with gardening and small-scale food growing, and I’d like to grow that into a collaborative effort with others who share similar values.
