Free webinar coming up on April 25, 2023 from Noon to 1pm EST. **Continued education opportunity for Ag Professionals!

Best Practices for Farmer and Service Professional Working Relationship – Kaitlyn Davis and Joy Kirkpatrick, Division of Extension educators will provide an overview of a research project they are conducting to learn more about how farm businesses can best work with service professionals for productive outcomes.

PFL Welcomes New Employees

 Tyler Hoffman is PFL’s new Program Development Associate. Tyler is originally from Altoona and now lives in the Harrisburg. 

After obtaining her degree in Environmental Studies from Pennsylvania State University, Tyler accepted a position at Whitetail Wetlands managing a Bed n’ Breakfast and oversaw a 500+ acre property containing 11 wetland easements. She then worked for DCNR Bureau of State Parks as a park manager trainee and operated as an interim manager for Cowans Gap.  Tyler then took a position with Lancaster Farmland Trust as their Land Protection Assistant where she monitored farms, completed baseline documentation, and worked with farmers on preserved farmland. In her personal time, Tyler enjoys taking hikes and skiing with her husband, daughter, and dog. 

Vicki Miller is PFL’s new Bookkeeper. Vicki is from York County and has always lived in rural communities surrounded by farms.

For the past 26 years, Vicki has worked in social services in various finance positions. The past 16 years of finance experience were as the Chief Financial Officer for an agency providing services for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Autism. Her responsibilities included managing a finance team and over $15 million in funding and compliance with the reporting and auditing requirements for all funders. Vicki also worked with the agency’s Leadership Team in decision making for financial, programming and human resources oversight and strategic planning.

Vicki serves on the board of Bell Housing and Penn Apartments in York, PA, and also serves on Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church council. In my her spare time, she enjoys reading and gardening and spending time with her two grandchildren.
