Farmer Information:

I am 21 and was born and raised on a dairy farm, which has since been transitioned to a beef and crop farm.

I own and manage a small flock of khatadin sheep for meat. I have experience with beef, dairy, sheep, goats, small scale chicken and hogs, as well as flower and veggie production for a small family CSA we ran a few years ago.

I just recently moved off the farm and got a job with the Farm Service Agency but am looking for a farm to purchase. Ideally it would have a barn for beef and sheep production, pastures, and acreage for crop production for the operation.

Current Herd Description:

Currently have 15 breeding ewes, mostly khatadin with some dorper mixed in, which are on an 8 month breeding schedule. All lambs are private saled to help optimize profit. I also own 3 beef cows who are on my dads farm but can be brought to whatever property I find to help start a beef herd. Those cows are mostly Angus, but a commercial mix.

Agricultural Degrees / Certifications:

Delaware Valley University – B.S. in Agribusiness (2021) and an M.S. in Agribusiness (2022)

We are a married couple with young kids looking for an opportunity to start farming. My grandparents were dairy farmers in Chester County and my cousins currently are dairy farmers in Montgomery County.

I currently work in the Conservation/Agricultural field in the Southeast/South Central part of the state. We don’t have much experience, several years working on several dairies and experience with processing/jugging milk, but I have always wanted to be a farmer and have a true passion for farming and agriculture.

Young couple with many years of farm experience looking for an opportunity to farm and build equity to eventually buy out farm. Both currently working off farm. Ideally an opportunity for the wife to stay home with family and care for farm animals possibly chickens and or other livestock/dairy animals.
