One of us has experience in vegetable production from seed to harvest. This was done through the WWOOF program at Juniper Hill Farm in Wadhams, NY. They have experience seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, processing, and packaging. Their experience includes helping with the CSA program and fulfilling individual and commercial orders. Currently, their responsibilities on the homestead include butchering and processing the small livestock for personal use as well as caring for the indoor seedlings. Completed in 2018
One of us spent two weeks on a diversified family farm doing an intensive training program that included early season plant management, grant writing, livestock care (chickens and sheep), farmers market sales, and tree care best practices. Their responsibilities on the homestead include garden planning, homestead financing, value added product production, and grant writing. Completed in 2024
