Landowner Listing #30152
We are transitioning out of farming as we want to move closer to family in the midwest and want to travel. We have a 69 acre farm that currently consists of hay fields, pastures, a pond and some wooded area surrounding a small stream. Also on the property is an 1870’s two story log house, a solid barn from the same era as well as a large equipment shed, corn crib and covered enclosure for livestock. Our farm has most recently been used to raise beef cattle, but the possibilities for other uses are open. We are looking for someone who wants to sustain the farm and who will value and work the land as a farm rather than for other uses. Chemicals have never been used on any of our land. We have a variety of equipment and supplies that could stay with the farm depending on arrangements. Equipment includes several tractors, round and square balers, rakes, brush and rotary cutters, and smaller implements such as plows, discs, scraper blades, etc. There is a gas well on the property that provides free gas to the house as well as a solar array that provides more than farm electric needs, with reimbursement to us for extra power sent back to the power company. Currently there is no battery backup system for off grid use. There are no cattle currently on the farm as the fences need work, however fencing materials are available. We are open to conventional as well as organic farming practices. The farm is located near Uniontown on a quiet road. We are currently considering leasing as well as purchase options. This property is just waiting for someone with a vision who will build on the 150 year legacy of this farm. At this time, we are only looking to sell the property, not lease it.

The property is 30 acres with approximately 8 of the acres being tillable land. There is a barn and grazing area and 4 additional tree lined pasture areas. The rest of the land is wooded. Some of the pastures are more overgrown than others and we would like to see the land used. The land hasn’t been touched by chemicals in over 50 years and current practices must be organic or regenerative. Owners of the property and currently working on renovating the home.

The farm is approximately 160 acres. The land was previously used for dairy and hay. Rock walls and separate fencing pastures, but fencing must be reinforced. The Land was recently surveyed and well marked now. There are ample amounts of barbed and wire fencing available to use for farm leases to fence pastures for regenerative farming practices. The farm will remain for organic and regenerative farm use only. There is a 1407 sf garage/workshop space with a garage door and door entry on the property. The owner is building a dwelling for personal use in the future, but there is currently NO dwelling on the property. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS location and pastures. See pictures, and more pictures can be sent. A caretaker is nearby on adjacent property for added security.

Farm is currently owned by a brother and sister in partnership. This farm has been in our family since around 1820 and we are the 6th generation to grow up on this former dairy farm. The total acreage is about 365 acres, but most of that is woodland. There are about 30 acres of flat, tillable land that would be ideal for high tunnel structures or vegetable production such as potatoes/garlic. There is a high deer population which limits types of vegetables grown. Land is currently rented for hay production, but we’re looking into a more sustainable and longer-term relationship that will keep the land in agriculture production. We recently completed a forestry plan through NRCS and will be doing invasive management for forested areas in the future. 12 fruit trees (apple, peach, pear) in the yard. 3-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom house is available for rent. Root cellar, functioning fireplace w/oil heat available, large kitchen.

The goal of this farm is to become an educational center, to learn and share ecologically balanced practices that promote sustainable agricultural and conservation of natural resources. This is an opportunity for beginning farmers to explore, practice, and create their own self supporting, diversified enterprises. Two barns, a mix of hayfield, pasture, pond, and mountain top woods opens the land to many possibilities. The right farmer/s will be able to expand their own dream on this shared land which will be secured for future generations through a land trust with a supporting non-profit board.
