Hi. I grew up on a small beef and grain farm in Cambria County. I have a degree on Ag Bus Mgmt from Penn State. I worked for USDA and served in the PA Army National Guard. I am looking for a farmstead to purchase to raise some beef swine and crops (Depending on how the farm is setup). I am looking in Northern PA. Western and Central PA

We currently have1 high tunnel/greenhouse and are expanding to add at least 2 more. We raise meat chickens, laying chickens and swine. We harvest a multi-fruit orchard and several varieties of berries, as well. We live in a very recessed area, in fact, a food desert, and would like to work on filling that gap. I have over 30 years’ experience in crop growing on a small level and look forward to expanding and educating on a bigger platform.

Both sides of my family have been generational dairy farmers. Growing up, we had a livestock farm with sheep, pigs, cattle, and goats. My sisters and I would wake up early each morning before school to do chores, then get ready for school. We were involved in 4-H, and in college, I joined collegiate FFA. I went to Delaware Valley University for Accounting.
My husband now runs a grass-fed only beef farm.
I want to get back into pigs and chickens. I have been approached by many people who buy beef from us, asking about pork and chicken. We strive to be as organic as possible, using no herbicides or pesticides. People trust that we will continue to do that, continuing into hogs and chickens.

I studied agriculture, ecology, and food systems at Cornell (2021) and have worked on organic farms in California for the past 4 years, as both farm manager and farm operations assistant. I am excited to be moving back to the East coast where I have land access in Berks County via family. The 8-acre farm is currently being farmed by a local dairy farmer, who has grown organic feed for his herd for many years but is retiring soon. I have plans to start a small farm on this land where I want to increase the acreage of perennial food crops (apples, blueberries, and other specialty fruit crops) as well as grow organic dry/storage food crops. Though I grew up in Philadelphia, I have never farmed in Pennsylvania and will need to significantly acquaint myself with the region and resources available there.

Hello my name is Hannah May! My husband Blake and I have been looking for a farm for a year or two now. But with being so young and wanting to get into farming it’s super hard. We have a 10 month son that we want to be able to raise on a farm. I grew up on a fifty acre farm in PA so I understand the value of living on a farm! My husband has been around agriculture his whole life as well! I raised and showed pigs, goats, sheep steer, and chicken. We had 60,000 which we raised for Purdue!

My name is Nash Lawrence, and I’m the owner of Pittsburgh Pastures, a pasture-based poultry and livestock farm in Mars, Pennsylvania. After gaining experience on farms across the country, I returned home in 2023 to start Pittsburgh Pastures with a focus on raising non-GMO, pasture-raised chickens and eggs through regenerative and humane farming practices. We’re currently looking to expand to 1,000 laying hens and 7,500+ meat birds in the coming season. My goal is to find a property within an hour of Pittsburgh that includes housing, allowing me to live on the same land where I care for my animals and continue growing the farm sustainably.

I’m a self-employed husband and father, currently homesteading on small acreage and actively looking for farm opportunities. I grew up on farms in Susquehanna county, doing everything from gardening, to haying, raising horses, veal, and beef. As homesteaders, we garden, raise chickens, and preserve our harvest. I also own and operate a small farm supply business called Farmstead Supplies. I have practical knowledge and experience in most farm-related tasks and principles, but I am looking for a place to increase my knowledge and put it to work.
My goal is to raise beef regeneratively, along with pigs, chickens, and other suitable livestock to sell to the immediate local community. I’m passionate about regenerative agriculture practices that focus on building the soil and raising crops and livestock chemical-free.
As an NEPA native, this region is very important to me. My family has deep roots here and my dream is to farm in this area. Preferably within a 10-mile radius of Dalton, PA (Lackawanna County)
