The farm covers 60 acres with 35 to 40 acres are currently rented to a local farmer who grows soybeans and corn. The other 20 acres are comprised of pasture, yard, and buildings. A small portion of the pasture is rented by a neighbor to graze their horses. The buildings include a 2-story wood frame farm house (1685 sq. ft.) with a basement on a stone foundation, storm cellar entrance, two porches, and a handicapped accessible ramp; a two-story barn (40ft x 80ft, 3720 sq. ft.), rebuilt in 1991; a canvas-covered equipment barn (40ft x 64ft, 2560 sq. ft.); a silo (14ft x 55ft); and various outbuildings. There was a small dairy operation from 1898 to 1978, then the family raised beef and grew corn and hay. The property is in a farmland preservation trust (agriculture conservation easement) that allows for the building of one additional residential structure on up to 2 acres. Under the trust, the farm property will be used for agriculture production or commercial equine activities.

Family farm. We have people rent the farm to grow different crops. We also have three horses on the property.

My wife’s family ran this farm as a small hobby farm. They took hay off the fields and maintained two horses, a cow, and a flock of ~40 sheep. We sought to care for the property in a similar way, but due to an injury we’re no longer able to achieve the things we’d like to here. We’re hoping to find someone interested in living in the house and utilizing the land. The farm is 157+/- acres with approximately 25 acres of hay fields that could be suitable for crop production, another 55 acres that is suitable for pasture, and 80 acres of woods. There is an old stone farmhouse on the property that we lived in for the last 4 years, but it certainly needs work. There is electricity and a good well. There is adequate cell phone reception at the house, and we used cell service for internet access at the property, as this is the most reliable option. It’s a remote and beautiful place.

Land has not been farmed in years. Currently being cut for cow feed. Part of the farm is being used for beef cows. Would like to see crops come to the land so it can be utilized.

Landowner #30169

Open pastureland, no trees or stumps. Owners are retired couple; husband is recently blind. Can no longer mow. Would like to see the fields utilized by a farmer.

This farm has been passed down to 5 family members. It was farmed previously but has been untouched for approximately 30 years. The land would need some clearing to be able to be farmed. 150 acres, some hills. No buildings, fence or well currently.

Current vacant 4-5 acre farm available for planting. Land is not being farmed currently. Not appropriate for livestock.

Landowner #30153

13 acres of vacant land. Last farmed in 2021 with row crops. Come with your ideas. Open to all farming types.

Landowner Listing #30149

11.52 acres that has never been used. About half is land and half is wooded. There is a small orchard near a stream. I prefer no use of pesticides or chemicals on the land.
