I grew up in Cranberry Township on 10 acres when it was still farm land – born in the early 70s with cows as neighbors on 2 sides. I only ever knew well water and raw milk direct from our local farmer friend. My family had two small gardens but enough to feed 5 for summer with about 10 rows of corn, which us kids mostly seeded, watered, weeded, harvested. I would say we grew about 10 to 12+ different types of vegetables. We often went to local farms for apple,picking and took them to the local cider press (Sally’s) to watch them, be pressed into our own cider. My parents both hunted until my mom had children, and we hunted to sustain winter since we did not grow up with a lot of money.

I went from that life pretty directly to corporate world at age 19 through 52 and I much preferred the former life. I enjoy being more in tune with nature, more time outdoors, more self-sustaining, and of course, more tomatoes!

As back up, I have my best friend from high school and her husband who own a beyond organic (even more stringent practices) orchard/cidery and have degrees in horticulture and agriculture. I consider them experts in going in above and beyond in their practices of organic farming and living.

I would love to start learning more and am ready to start up and find land.

Currently, my fiance and I are looking to create a farm in which we can be self sufficient and bring about community joy. We began this journey not knowing much about farming but through researching, volunteering, and planning, we have been able to cultivate ideas that work best for production and cultivation. We both share a deep love for animals and agriculture. On the weekends, we volunteer at our local farm ensuring that we learn the best practices for starting a farm. Some tasks we do include cleaning horse stalls, planting in greenhouses, and operating the small farm petting zoo. We have come to love these tasks so much that they have inspired us to take a leap of faith and begin planning our own farm.

I have been farming for about 8 years originally growing tree fruits and now growing produce, primarily sweet corn. Engineering and bakery positions are currently held. With precision agriculture farming and bakery at the core of our ideas. A young couple with a plan to not depend on the commodity but to depend on the land. We hope to open our own farm and bakery, small scale, around 3 acres, with access for people, some wooded lot for firewood, and some to grow vegetable crops. We have experience with volunteering for 3 years and have grown our own crops across a variety of things. We are now saving capital to lease and require help. We wish to find like-minded people who can help us and us them when necessary to propel our future. And we believe Farm Link does just this. I began my farm journey three years ago with Cornell Small Farms then joining PASA in Pennsylvania. I have worked on three farms since and I am currently at that phase where my confidence as peaked and I am ready to pursue stage one of my farming goals. Stage one is the entry point where I start out small (poultry and vegetables) then eventually grading up to full-scale farming that will eventually become an Agritourism venture. The focus on my farm goals is to create an Agritourism venture that comprises of many facets of the farming industry at a community level where teaching, learning, and applying great agriculture practices together with permaculture and holistic management. I am seeking 5-25 acres of land access in the beginning through farmer-to-farmer agreements, working alongside experience farmers or any collaboration that would involve an entry point.

Our vision is to create a sustainable, diversified farm that blends agriculture with community service. We plan to raise goats(for milk and a mobile “goat cuddling” program), chickens for eggs, and vegetable gardens, along with pick-your-own flowers. A key part of our mission is running a CSA program for cancer patients in partnership with LAFF (Life Always Facing Forward), providing fresh produce and flowers to those in need.
We have hands-on experience with livestock, dairy, and vegetable production, and we are committed to maintaining and improving any property we manage. Our goal is to build a farm that nurtures the land, supports our community, and serves as a healing space for families, children, and visitors.
