The farm is approximately 160 acres. The land was previously used for dairy and hay. Rock walls and separate fencing pastures, but fencing must be reinforced. The Land was recently surveyed and well marked now. There are ample amounts of barbed and wire fencing available to use for farm leases to fence pastures for regenerative farming practices. The farm will remain for organic and regenerative farm use only. There is a 1407 sf garage/workshop space with a garage door and door entry on the property. The owner is building a dwelling for personal use in the future, but there is currently NO dwelling on the property. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS location and pastures. There are about 13 tillable acres that have previously been grazed by sheep, harvested for hay and 5 acres which were previously feed corn production but have been fallow for 3 years. We are interested in renting the farm land and/or farm house to a farmer who is committed to regenerative organic agriculture. There is a large barn with room for hay storage and sheltering animals. We have a 55 acre farm in southern Mercer County, PA (near Lawrence County line). For the past 10 years or so, many of the fields (20-25 acres) have been leased out for conventional commodity crop production. Today, there are 10-15 acres that are not under cultivation and we are exploring alternative agrobusiness uses for this land with a longer-term view of expanding these alternative uses to other parts of the farm. Farm is currently owned by a brother and sister in partnership. This farm has been in our family since around 1820 and we are the 6th generation to grow up on this former dairy farm. The total acreage is about 365 acres, but most of that is woodland. There are about 30 acres of flat, tillable land that would be ideal for high tunnel structures or vegetable production such as potatoes/garlic. There is a high deer population which limits types of vegetables grown. Land is currently rented for hay production, but we’re looking into a more sustainable and longer-term relationship that will keep the land in agriculture production. We recently completed a forestry plan through NRCS and will be doing invasive management for forested areas in the future. 12 fruit trees (apple, peach, pear) in the yard. 3-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom house is available for rent. Root cellar, functioning fireplace w/oil heat available, large kitchen.

My husband and I own a 160-year-old farmhouse that sits on approximately 5 acres of land in Allegheny County. A local farmer has been maintaining the land for us by rotating crops such as pumpkins, corn, alfalfa, and winter wheat. Currently, approximately 1.5 acres are being farmed, the rest is available. The land is fairly flat with a small a gently rolling section. The plot of land is easily accessible for farm equipment and to harvest crops. We would like to find a farmer who is interested in large-scale vegetable production or growing crops and/or hay and who would practice sustainable methods of farming. Our community hosts a weekly farmers market that is about 2 miles away with ample parking and restroom. We are grateful to our local farmer, but he is retiring, and we would like to find someone to utilize the beautiful property and support our local economy.

The goal of this farm is to become an educational center, to learn and share ecologically balanced practices that promote sustainable agricultural and conservation of natural resources. This is an opportunity for beginning farmers to explore, practice, and create their own self supporting, diversified enterprises. Two barns, a mix of hayfield, pasture, pond, and mountain top woods opens the land to many possibilities.  The right farmer/s will be able to expand their own dream on this shared land which will be secured for future generations through a land trust with a supporting non-profit board. Farming Method: Permaculture “See http://bit.ly/Land2Share for more info.”

We are looking to fill an organic vegetable position. We previously had an individual who farmed our land and developed a CSA with about 35 customers. His CSA customers may still be available. There are about 2 acres that he worked but more are available and there is water on this acreage. A shed is available for storage of equipment, but no housing is available. We are located in Avella PA about 35 miles south of Pittsburgh.  We also have an area that we used to house about 250 organic layer chickens that is available. Land usage is free in exchange for vegetables/CSA share options. Owners are open to and have land available for other ideas in addition to vegetable production.

Landowner Listing 30044

*There are 50 acres in the parcel (20 acres are wooded, 25 acres have fruit trees planted, 5 acres are cut and not planted). *The land was a productive fruit farm until 1990 and has since fallen into disrepair. The fruit trees could be removed from the area to support another enterprise. *I would like to partner with someone to create value on the land. Some areas for a partnership could include: hemp production, organic farming, wine and fruit production, agri-tourism, livestock grazing, hay production, or recreation. Dairy farming is not an option. *I am interested in a relationship with a reliable partner. Sub-leasing is permissible; one need not take responsibility for the entire 50 acre tract. *There is some storage space and water is available. *Land diagrams and aerial maps are available upon request. The homes on the property are currently not available. *I am Interested in leasing the property or a joint profit-sharing venture. *The property is located in the zip code 18644 area (Luzerne County/Franklin Township).
