I am a novice farmer looking to expand my knowledge and experience. We have hands on experience with growing many different foods, including small fruit trees, berry and herb bushes, standard garden vegetables, etc. we are proficient in composting methods, and we currently have a flock of chickens but would like to expand to a small sheep herd and a few milk cows.
My husband and I are currently learning about agronomy and efficient gardening methods like companion planting and succession planting. I am also looking into greenhouse planting in order to better stabilize temperature for not only certain plants but also create a more temperate stable home.
My family’s main goal is to build up a homestead just big enough to keep us self-sufficient and be able to provide our community with the crops we grow to create a closed loop that keeps us safe from reliance on government entities. We are working on creating a future for our daughter and those close to us that feels stable.
When my family and I lived in Pennsylvania, we had a tiny backyard and had to learn to grow vegetables and fruits in a small patch of dirt. We moved to New Jersey to help out family but are now looking to move back and expand our homestead.
We have a small flock of 10 egg layer chickens and two roosters
We are a family with young children looking for an opportunity to begin farming. We did not grow up on a family farm; however, my grandparents were dairy farmers which sparked a passion for farming and agriculture.
We currently raise a handful of small breed sheep, and I work in the Conservation/Agricultural consulting field in the Southeast/Southcentral part of the state. We have some farm experience working on several dairies and experience with processing/jugging milk.
Looking for a farm opportunity in which to gain experience, build equity, and the chance to raise our kids around a farm. Housing on the farm would be preferred.
Young couple with many years of farm experience looking for an opportunity to farm and build equity to eventually buy out farm. Both currently working off farm. Ideally an opportunity for the wife to stay home with family and care for farm animals possibly chickens and or other livestock/dairy animals. Husband would like to continue to work full time off the farm and farm on the side to build capital and equity. Eventually would love to farm full time if situation allows and income warrants.
Experience in all aspects of farm operation and anxious to start road to their own business and work towards the next generation being a part of it.
We currently operate a beef, crop and hay farm as well as manage a large horse farm and offer custom operator services.
We are always interested in local properties to grow our business. We began our business approximately 14 years ago. We have an 80 acre farm in Chester County and continue to grow by leasing and working with area landowners.
We are experienced, respectful and fair. We appreciate our landowners and honor a good working relationship.
