- Formulated Business Plan
- Crop Production
I have approximately 10 years of hands-on farming experience across several types of agricultural operations. I have worked on a diversified farm producing for farmers markets, where I helped raise and care for pigs, ducks, guinea hens, turkeys, sheep, and other livestock, with an emphasis on grass-based practices. I have also worked on a goat dairy, including milking and cheesemaking, as well as on a conventional dairy milking cows for milk pickup. I have experience managing calves and with the day-to-day physical work and responsibilities involved in running a farm.
My goal is to eventually establish and operate a diversified, sustainable farm of my own, with a strong emphasis on soil health, pasture-based livestock, and holistic agricultural practices. I would like the farm to be more than a production operation: I envision incorporating a CSA or other direct-to-consumer sales, agricultural tourism, hands-on classes and educational opportunities, and community events that connect people with agriculture and local food.
I do not currently own land or have the capital to purchase a farm outright, and I do not yet have a finalized business or marketing plan. However, I have substantial practical farming experience, a clear vision for the type of farm I want to create, and I am prepared to develop the necessary business, marketing, and financial plans around an appropriate farm opportunity. My long-term goal is to build a financially sustainable operation that allows me to eventually own the farm and make it a lasting part of my family and community.
We are a family with young children looking for an opportunity to begin farming. We did not grow up on a family farm; however, my grandparents were dairy farmers which sparked a passion for farming and agriculture.
We currently raise a handful of small breed sheep, and I work in the Conservation/Agricultural consulting field in the Southeast/Southcentral part of the state. We have some farm experience working on several dairies and experience with processing/jugging milk.
Looking for a farm opportunity in which to gain experience, build equity, and the chance to raise our kids around a farm. Housing on the farm would be preferred.
Young couple with many years of farm experience looking for an opportunity to farm and build equity to eventually buy out farm. Both currently working off farm. Ideally an opportunity for the wife to stay home with family and care for farm animals possibly chickens and or other livestock/dairy animals. Husband would like to continue to work full time off the farm and farm on the side to build capital and equity. Eventually would love to farm full time if situation allows and income warrants.
Experience in all aspects of farm operation and anxious to start road to their own business and work towards the next generation being a part of it.
We currently operate a beef, crop and hay farm as well as manage a large horse farm and offer custom operator services.
We are always interested in local properties to grow our business. We began our business approximately 14 years ago. We have an 80 acre farm in Chester County and continue to grow by leasing and working with area landowners.
We are experienced, respectful and fair. We appreciate our landowners and honor a good working relationship.
