I am currently looking for land to pasture raise broilers. I am looking for a farm within two hours of Pittsburgh with at least 20 acres of pasture, ideally 40 or so. Farm buildings would be a plus, even if they need some work, and a house on site would also be a plus, even something small that needs work.
Farming is something I have always been interested in but pursued a career in real estate and construction. I now want to start more actively engaging in farm businesses and have settled on a good first start being to pasture raise broiler chickens for regional sale.
I have been around farming and agriculture since I was a child. I have many relatives that went to Penn State for Agricultural degrees and are still full-time farmers today.
We are a family with young children looking for an opportunity to begin farming. We did not grow up on a family farm; however, my grandparents were dairy farmers which sparked a passion for farming and agriculture.
We currently raise a handful of small breed sheep, and I work in the Conservation/Agricultural consulting field in the Southeast/Southcentral part of the state. We have some farm experience working on several dairies and experience with processing/jugging milk.
Looking for a farm opportunity in which to gain experience, build equity, and the chance to raise our kids around a farm. Housing on the farm would be preferred.
Young couple with many years of farm experience looking for an opportunity to farm and build equity to eventually buy out farm. Both currently working off farm. Ideally an opportunity for the wife to stay home with family and care for farm animals possibly chickens and or other livestock/dairy animals. Husband would like to continue to work full time off the farm and farm on the side to build capital and equity. Eventually would love to farm full time if situation allows and income warrants.
Experience in all aspects of farm operation and anxious to start road to their own business and work towards the next generation being a part of it.
We currently operate a beef, crop and hay farm as well as manage a large horse farm and offer custom operator services.
We are always interested in local properties to grow our business. We began our business approximately 14 years ago. We have an 80 acre farm in Chester County and continue to grow by leasing and working with area landowners.
We are experienced, respectful and fair. We appreciate our landowners and honor a good working relationship.
