Looking For Land In:

Entering Farmer: #20610

Years of Farming Experience: 5

Farmer Information:

I am a small-scale vegetable farmer looking to expand my diversified market garden operation in Chester County. I currently farm less than a quarter acre across family land and a leased parcel, and am hoping to find additional land closer to my existing home farm operation in East Fallowfield. My immediate need is to lease approximately 0.5–1 acre of farmable land. A long-term or rolling lease would be ideal, allowing me to invest in the land and develop a stable, mutually beneficial relationship with a landowner. Access to a reliable water source for irrigation is essential, while shared infrastructure such as equipment, storage, wash/pack space, fencing, or other farm facilities would be a welcome bonus but is not necessary.

I am also interested in opportunities to purchase and steward farmland as a more permanent home for my family and farm. Ideally, I would be seeking at least 2 acres, with additional acreage allowing room to eventually incorporate small-scale animal production, including laying hens and dairy goats. I would be open to purchasing a subdivided portion of a larger property or discussing other possibilities that could support this long-term goal.

I currently grow and sell vegetables through a small CSA and two local farmers markets. I use intensive, regenerative market-garden practices to produce a diverse mix of crops on a relatively small footprint. I do not use heavy machinery, synthetic herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers. I keep detailed production and business records and try to make thoughtful, informed decisions as I grow the business, balancing care for the land with the practical realities of running a financially sustainable farm.

I welcome conversations with landowners and experienced farmers whose properties or ideas may not fit neatly within the criteria outlined here. I am open-minded about potential arrangements and value the opportunity to learn from others with experience in land stewardship and agriculture. Over time, I hope to build a farm and way of life that allows me to grow food for my household and community while putting down deeper roots in the place I call home.
