I grew up working for a local dairy farmer and recently was able to move back to the area to start my own farm. I currently have 17 acres of grain sorghum planted on rented land with plans to plant 40 additional acres next year. My goal is to slowly grow each year until I have around 100 acres of land that I am farming.
My goal is to run specialized crops that may not have as large an exposure in PA as they have in other states, as well as bringing back crops from previous generations. Ideally, I would like to operate as a no-till regenerative farm operation with goals of becoming chemical- and synthetic fertilizer-free. I would like to eventually become organic certified and remove all pesticides from operations.
I am the owner of a specialty grain company based out of Benton, PA. I currently work as a Sr. Finance Partner at Geisinger and utilize my off-farm income to sustain farming. I was able to use my own capital to purchase a tractor, planter, drill, and combine for my crop operation.
I do not have an agricultural degree; however, I do hold an MBA and a Master’s degree in Investment Management and Financial Analysis.
We are a family with young children looking for an opportunity to begin farming. We did not grow up on a family farm; however, my grandparents were dairy farmers which sparked a passion for farming and agriculture.
We currently raise a handful of small breed sheep, and I work in the Conservation/Agricultural consulting field in the Southeast/Southcentral part of the state. We have some farm experience working on several dairies and experience with processing/jugging milk.
Looking for a farm opportunity in which to gain experience, build equity, and the chance to raise our kids around a farm. Housing on the farm would be preferred.
Young couple with many years of farm experience looking for an opportunity to farm and build equity to eventually buy out farm. Both currently working off farm. Ideally an opportunity for the wife to stay home with family and care for farm animals possibly chickens and or other livestock/dairy animals. Husband would like to continue to work full time off the farm and farm on the side to build capital and equity. Eventually would love to farm full time if situation allows and income warrants.
Experience in all aspects of farm operation and anxious to start road to their own business and work towards the next generation being a part of it.
We currently operate a beef, crop and hay farm as well as manage a large horse farm and offer custom operator services.
We are always interested in local properties to grow our business. We began our business approximately 14 years ago. We have an 80 acre farm in Chester County and continue to grow by leasing and working with area landowners.
We are experienced, respectful and fair. We appreciate our landowners and honor a good working relationship.
