The farm covers 60 acres with 35 to 40 acres are currently rented to a local farmer who grows soybeans and corn. The other 20 acres are comprised of pasture, yard, and buildings. A small portion of the pasture is rented by a neighbor to graze their horses. The buildings include a 2-story wood frame farm house (1685 sq. ft.) with a basement on a stone foundation, storm cellar entrance, two porches, and a handicapped accessible ramp; a two-story barn (40ft x 80ft, 3720 sq. ft.), rebuilt in 1991; a canvas-covered equipment barn (40ft x 64ft, 2560 sq. ft.); a silo (14ft x 55ft); and various outbuildings. There was a small dairy operation from 1898 to 1978, then the family raised beef and grew corn and hay. The property is in a farmland preservation trust (agriculture conservation easement) that allows for the building of one additional residential structure on up to 2 acres. Under the trust, the farm property will be used for agriculture production or commercial equine activities.

Family farm that was used for small scale beef cattle farming as well as hogs and chickens. Tillable acreage is approximately 13 1/4 acres. The rest of the property has been timbered. Fields have been used for vegetables, hay, and corn and most have fencing around them. This farmette would be great for horses as it includes many trails suitable for riding.

We are transitioning out of farming as we want to move closer to family in the midwest and want to travel. We have a 69 acre farm that currently consists of hay fields, pastures, a pond and some wooded area surrounding a small stream. Also on the property is an 1870’s two story log house, a solid barn from the same era as well as a large equipment shed, corn crib and covered enclosure for livestock. Our farm has most recently been used to raise beef cattle, but the possibilities for other uses are open. We are looking for someone who wants to sustain the farm and who will value and work the land as a farm rather than for other uses. Chemicals have never been used on any of our land. We have a variety of equipment and supplies that could stay with the farm depending on arrangements. Equipment includes several tractors, round and square balers, rakes, brush and rotary cutters, and smaller implements such as plows, discs, scraper blades, etc. There is a gas well on the property that provides free gas to the house as well as a solar array that provides more than farm electric needs, with reimbursement to us for extra power sent back to the power company. Currently there is no battery backup system for off grid use. There are no cattle currently on the farm as the fences need work, however fencing materials are available. We are open to conventional as well as organic farming practices. The farm is located near Uniontown on a quiet road. We are currently considering leasing as well as purchase options. This property is just waiting for someone with a vision who will build on the 150 year legacy of this farm. At this time, we are only looking to sell the property, not lease it.

We borrow land from future generations. I became caretaker of these 80 acres, previously hay, beef cattle grazing, woods and wetland, when my in-laws passed away. I want to leave the land better than I found it, so am seeking a like minded person/persons with commitment, but no land base of their own to caretake this land and grow your dream. I want to help new farmers get started and gain experience without having the land investment. Prefer organic farming methods used. http://usebccinstead.info/FARM/

The property’s 89 acres span both sides of a state-maintained, paved road. A bank barn is located directly across from the house and is surrounded by approximately 10 acres of pasture with a cow pond. The 2 BR, 1 BA 2-story house has newer metal roof/siding/windows and is in very good condition. There is propane heat with a newer hot air furnace, as well as electric radiator panels in the kitchen and living room as an alternative. A wood stove could be added in the basement or living room. Off the entry is a bonus room that could be made into an extra bedroom with a bath. A neighbor makes hay from the pasture and has monitored and amended the soil as needed. Behind the house is 40 acres of pasture and woodland. Additional acreage includes conservable meadow, fen/wetland and bog. The pasture was planted with hedgerow trees and warm season grasses while enrolled in a USDA conservation program from 2011-2022. Approximately 15 acres of woodland is located at the far back of the parcel, which has been logged sustainable using a consulting forester, most recently in 2020. The valley is a mix of legacy family farms and farmettes with cattle, goats, horses, corn and soybean crops. Some Plain Sect families own properties in the immediate area, but most do not farm. It would be great to make this a working farm again. Sale–prefer conventional bank loan or cash. The right buyer will have a plan and money lined up.
