For New Farmers

In addition to all the resources for new farmers available on this web site, Pennsylvania Farm Link also features a searchable database of farms available for sale, rent or lease. In addition, you can post your own situation on the site for landowners who are looking for new farmers who can take over their land.

When a farmer expresses interest in your Entering Farmer listing, PFL will ask for details on the farmer’s opportunity and forward to you to review.  If interested you would contact the farm owner directly to discuss the farming opportunity.  Please note that the majority of communication from PA Farm Link is via email to assure the quickest responses possible.

The registration process:

Step 1: Pay by credit card. To apply as an Entering Farmer, you will be charged a one-time fee $100.00, payable via the PayPal button on the registration page.

The value of the registration fee: 1.) Your listing will be available to the public 24/7, 365 days a year; 2.) There is no commission or additional fees associated with your listing as long as you are actively seeking a farming opportunity and respond to our annual update questionnaire; 3.) Your listing will be shared via social media, email, distributed at various agricultural programs that PA Farm Link is participating in, and included in PFL e-newsletters; and 4.) PFL staff are available to you to help answer questions or connect you to other agricultural organizations, all free of charge.

Step 2: Fill out our registration form. After you have paid the $100.00, complete the registration form and submit it. Once we’ve verified payment, and if there are no further questions, we’ll post your information on our web site. ***Please be sure to answer all questions and/or check all applicable boxes on the form so that your application can be reviewed, accepted, and posted in a timely manner.

If you need assistance to complete the payment or the application, please call 717-705-2121 or email farmland@pafarmlink.org

Please Note: If your application is accepted by PA Farm Link and activated in the online database system, you will be required to complete an annual update of your information as well as respond to emails regarding your status as questions arise.  If you do not respond, your listing will be deactivated and a fee will be charged to reactivate the listing.  This will help in ensure an accurate list of parties looking for a farming opportunity.

*** PA Farm Link can not guarantee a match with an interested party looking for a farming opportunity but the staff will do their best to advertise your listing and search for matches in our system.
